EARN grant for summer

Get ahead on your college and career goals this summer with Jamestown Community College! The Educational Advancement for Regional Neighbors (EARN) grant covers the cost of tuition for one summer course at JCC. This grant is available to the first 150 high school students who apply and enroll in a course during one of our two summer sessions.

  • Open to current high school students ages 15 and older by the start of the term.
  • Must either live or attend high school in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, or Allegany county.
  • Must have been a New York state resident for at least 12 months prior to the course start date.
  • Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those who complete the application and all the required documentation by the application deadline.
  • High school seniors may still utilize the EARN grant in the summer term following high school graduation.

Summer Session I:

  • May 10 – Last day to submit EARN Application
  • May 17 – Payment of student accounts due (fees associated with course)
  • May 20 – First day of classes
  • May 27 – Memorial Day – no classes
  • May 31 – Classes follow a Wednesday schedule
  • June 19 – Juneteenth – no classes
  • July 1 – Last day of classes
    • Last day to choose CR/F or audit grade option
    • Last day to officially withdraw from an individual class with a grade of "W"
  • July 2 – Grades entered into Banner Web by 3 p.m.

Summer Session II:

  • May 17 – Payment of student accounts due (fees associated with course) – payment is due upon registration after May 17, 2024
  • June 28 – last day to submit EARN Application
  • July 8 – First day of classes
  • August 15 – Last day of classes
    • Last day to choose CR/F or audit grade option
    • Last day to officially withdraw from an individual class with a grade of "W"
  • August 16 – Grades entered into Banner Web by 3 p.m.
